Grok subscription cost: every route to a paid plan, compared

There are four ways to end up on a paid Grok plan. Each one costs a different amount over a different commitment, and each one fails for a different kind of account. This hub collects the comparisons in one place.

Last updated: 2026-10-02

The four routes

  • Monthly billing inside the Grok app — flexible, highest cost per month
  • Multi-month term billed up front — lower monthly cost, less flexibility
  • X Premium+ bundle — Grok plus the X subscription features
  • One-off top-up for an existing account — no recurring charge, no card required by xAI

Start with what you already use

If you cannot name three Grok features you used this week, the cheapest correct answer is usually the shortest useful term. If you post on X daily, the bundle is the only route where you are not paying twice for overlapping features.

Then check whether you can pay at all

Official billing needs a card the processor can charge in USD. Where that is not available, the realistic comparison is between a top-up service and no subscription, not between two official tiers.
